MANDULA IS ALL-THE-YEAR-ROUND BAIT

You can use Mandula bait all-the-year-round. It works well at summer, in a warm water, when walleye is active. Mandula is working as a regular soft plastic with a same type of jigs. Its swing joint of component parts allow it to play in a water similar as a soft plastic.

But Mandula has advantages even in a warm water and where walleye is active. Opened treble hook allows you to reduce the number of losts and empty bites. Often, well-fed walleye just playing with the bait. Pushes it to the bottom, throws up, pinches off the tail, takes in his mouth and spits it out. It's one thing when it's soft tail of standard lure and another thing when exposed treble hook. This is a deadly game for our predator with little chance not to be catched. So even if predator doesn't want to attack the honest, just playing with bait, Mandula allows to hook it up easily by means the exposed treble hook on the end of bait. Exposed treble hook works here as a boat hook. Sometimes I am getting up to 80% of my catch such manner.

60 lbs Catfish Caught | Walleye Mandula Lure

November 2016. Russia. Don River. Very good location for walleye jig fishing. Mandula lure used here. I come here already 10 years at this time of year. Here are a few good deep holes and drop of depths. One of a minus is a fishing nets. But I know how they put them. Therefore minuses is turning into pluses. Walleye is a clever fish and  gets caught to fishing net is rare. The river flow inflates fishing net as a sail and walleye likes to stand in a sailing bag in an ambush. If you could figure out how and where the net is stretched and where is a sailing bag you never stay without a catch.

Another advantage is to do a jig between fishing nets in the direction from the shore to a depth. On this day, I caught a dozen good walleyes and giffed the one small catfish (12 pounds aprox) by treble Mandula hook.

Father and son was fishing with me on another boat in the day . They used a Mandula lure too. Towards the evening they stood above the deepest pit and began tapping its edge. Son caught a good catfish.

They weighed anchor and catfish began to drive them on the river. Spinning for pike-perch got bend in an arc and should had been break down. Father giffed catfish by 2nd Mandula. So they travelled for 40 minutes until the catfish is not caught in a fishing net. The only thing that helped raise it and drag into the boat.

Mandula bait is working well not for walleye only. Today I'm placing video-compilation with Mandula jig fishing here. All video from the Russian but I added some English titles there:

A lot of such kind of video in the Russian segment of Internet. May be I'll place some of them here with translation. But next time I'm going to find and place my own video from walleye fishing where we are catched catfish about 60 pounds on Mandula lure.

Comparing catchability for the Mandula with the regular soft plastic it's like comparing the soft plastic with the old type of baits (such as soldered hook to a metal bar or bait from a spoon).

Mandula has become one of the most popular baits in the Russia.
Catchability of Mandula significantly better if compare with traditional types of lures such as soft plastics, crankbaits and others. Catchability of a Mandula can only be compared with the technique of fishing on the bypass leash. But Mandula is working well all-the-year-round. Another argument in favor of Mandula - catching on the bypass leash banned in many competitions in sport fishing.
